NTG and LGT Logistics expand with the acquisition of the activities of Thortrans.

LGT Logistics A/S, a key player in furniture logistics under NTG Nordic Transport Group A/S, is excited to announce the acquisition of Thortrans A/S. This strategic move strengthens NTG and LGT’s position in the furniture and kitchen logistics verticals.

Strategic growth and prospects
Thortrans, a family-owned business established in 1972, has built a strong reputation in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. Renowned for its expertise in handling, storage, and transportation of furniture and kitchens, Thortrans brings valuable assets to the NTG Group, including a modern facility in Randers.

This acquisition is a significant step in NTG’s strategy to become a leading end-to-end provider in furniture logistics. Supported by the recent acquisitions of RTC and the land-based furniture logistics division of Schenker Italiana, the combined strengths of NTG, LGT, and Thortrans will deliver value to both existing and new customers.

Strong brand with unique services

Thortrans is projected to add approximately DKK 120 million to LGT’s revenue over the next 12 months. The closing of the transaction is subject to customary approvals under the merger control regulation and formalities under the ongoing reconstruction process of Thortrans A/S. After closing, Thortrans will continue as part of LGT Logistics A/S.
