NTG is looking for a Senior Accountant & Controller to take responsibility for accounting, reporting and financial controlling across a portfolio of Danish entities.

Take ownership of accounting and controlling across a portfolio of Danish entities
NTG Nordic Transport Group is growing rapidly across Europe, and our finance setup is evolving alongside it. As part of this journey, we are transitioning transactional finance activities to our Shared Service Center in Bulgaria while strengthening governance, consistency and financial insight across our 80+ entities.
In this role, you step directly into that transformation. Initially, you will work hands-on with operational finance, process standardization, documentation, and knowledge transfer activities.
As the transition progresses, your role will evolve into a combination of accounting ownership and financial controlling. You will own and ensure high-quality month-end and year-end closings, maintain oversight of key accounting areas, reconciliations, and compliance, and support audits and statutory reporting.
You will act as the primary finance contact and trusted sparring partner for your entities, supporting local management with insights and decision-making. At the same time, you will drive financial analysis, budgeting, and performance follow-up, while acting as the key link to the FSSC, ensuring strong service delivery and continuous process improvements.
Your key responsibilities:
- Own month-end and year-end closing processes
- Manage accruals, provisions and other accounting assessments
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, provisions and accruals
- Support audits, statutory reporting, and tax/VAT compliance
- Perform financial analyses and performance follow-up
- Provide decision support to Managing Directors
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance follow-up
- Act as key liaison to the Shared Service Center (FSSC)
- Monitor service delivery and drive process improvements
- Assist with complex accounting and financial governance matters
This role also involves supporting finance transformation initiatives, including the transition of activities to the Shared Service Center, driving standardisation and documentation of processes, and contributing to integrations of newly acquired entities as well as other ad hoc finance projects.
What it takes to succeed in this role
You bring solid experience within accounting, controlling, or financial reporting, and you are comfortable taking ownership of your own entities. With a strong foundation in accounting principles, you combine technical expertise with a business-oriented mindset, enabling you to support decision-making and collaborate effectively across the organisation.
You have hands-on experience with month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, and are familiar with VAT, statutory reporting, and audit processes.
Working with stakeholders across the organisation comes naturally to you. You communicate clearly, challenge when it adds value, and know how to strike the balance between being supportive and pushing things forward.
You thrive in an evolving environment. New structures, changing processes and shifting priorities don’t slow you down – they motivate you. You bring a mindset focused on continuous improvement, where you naturally identify inefficiencies and suggest better ways of working, without compromising quality, compliance, or overall stability.
If you’ve worked with or alongside a Shared Service Center, that’s definitely a plus, but mindset matters more than setup.
Ready to put finance in motion?
