Head of FTL Department – Full Truckload Division

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced logistics professional to lead the launch and development of our new Full Truckload (FTL) division. This is a unique opportunity to build a team from the ground up, shape operational strategy, and drive growth in a fast-paced, international freight forwarding environment.
About the Role:
As the Head of FTL Department, you will be responsible for establishing and managing our new FTL department. You will lead the development of operational processes, recruit and train a high-performing team, and ensure the successful execution of full truckload shipments across Europe. This role requires strategic thinking, hands-on leadership, and deep industry expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Launch and lead the FTL division within the company
- Develop and implement operational procedures and KPIs
- Build and manage planners team
- Establish relationships with carriers and clients to ensure reliable service
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for the department
- Ensure compliance with international transport regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate FTL services into the broader logistics offering
- Report directly to company leadership with regular updates on performance and growth
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in FTL logistics or freight forwarding
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Strategic mindset with hands-on operational experience
- Fluent in English; other European languages are a plus
