We’re looking for a commercially driven and hands-on Branch Manager to lead our Felixstowe office and play a key role in strengthening NTG Air & Ocean UK’s position in one of the country’s most important ports.

This is not just another operational leadership role. It’s a position where you’ll combine commercial ownership, team leadership, and operational excellence - with full responsibility for the performance and development of the branch.

About the role
As Branch Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day management of the Felixstowe office while driving long-term growth and profitability. You will play a central role in building strong customer relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery across all ocean freight operations, and leading a high-performing and engaged team.

The role requires a balanced focus on commercial development and operational execution, ensuring that growth ambitions are supported by efficient processes, strong cost control, and consistent service excellence.

You will report to the Managing Director / UK Leadership and have direct responsibility for the Ocean Operations team in Felixstowe.

What you’ll be driving:

  • Overall responsibility for the branch’s operational and commercial performance
  • Define and execute local growth and business development initiatives
  • Develop, retain, and expand customer relationships
  • Support customer acquisition, retention, and long-term account development
  • Oversee all FCL and LCL import and export operations, ensuring efficient, compliant, and high-quality service delivery
  • Monitor and improve performance through KPIs, with a focus on productivity, service levels, and operational efficiency
  • Lead, coach, and develop the local team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, BIFA terms, and UK regulatory requirements
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with carriers and suppliers, negotiating competitive rates and securing capacity
  • Work closely with credit control to manage debtor days and ensure healthy cash flow
  • Drive process improvements and support digital adoption, including systems such as CargoWise

The profile that will succeed
You bring solid experience from ocean freight forwarding, with a strong understanding of both FCL and LCL operations. You have proven leadership experience and are comfortable managing teams, performance, and change in a dynamic environment.

Your commercial mindset enables you to identify opportunities, drive growth, and translate strategy into tangible results. At the same time, you have a strong operational foundation and understand how to deliver consistent service quality while maintaining efficiency and cost control.

You are familiar with key industry frameworks such as Incoterms and BIFA conditions, and experience working with systems like CargoWise will be considered an advantage.

As a person, you are proactive, structured, and results-oriented, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills. You thrive in a role where you can combine leadership, customer engagement, and business performance.
