Accounts Payable and General Ledger Manager
Some people like stepping into a polished setup. Others prefer being part of the team that creates it. At NTG, we’re building our finance center of excellence from the ground up - and we’re looking for someone who wants to shape how AP and GL should operate in a modern, scalable shared services environment.
We are hiring an AP & GL Manager who is ambitious, hands-on, and excited about building best-in-class, technology-enabled finance operations.
This is a combined leadership role with responsibility for both Accounts Payable and General Ledger activities in our Finance Shared Services Center. You will drive high-quality service delivery, strong financial controls, efficient month-end processes, take the lead on transition activities for new entities entering the FSSC.
Success in this role comes from combining operational excellence, people leadership, and strong stakeholder collaboration with a clear vision for how a modern, efficient, customer-centric FSSC should operate. You will play a key role in leading the transition of new entities into the FSSC, creating scalable processes and team structures, strengthening governance, and improving the experience for both internal and external stakeholders.
Who are we?
NTG, Nordic Transport Group, is one of Scandinavia’s fastest-growing logistics companies, with 82 entities worldwide. We are listed on Nasdaq Copenhagen and driven by an entrepreneurial culture where initiative, freedom with responsibility, and a strong sense of community are a natural part of our everyday work. Our Bulgarian office acts as a shared services hub supporting NTG companies across multiple countries.
What will you do?
You will lead and continuously improve end-to-end AP and GL operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, efficiency, and scalability across our finance processes and service delivery model, while supporting the integration of new entities into the FSSC.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end AP operations, including invoice intake, validation, approval flow, posting, vendor reconciliations, and expense processing, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Own core GL activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany processes, fixed assets, accruals, and support for month-end and year-end close.
- Take the lead on transition activities for new entities entering the FSSC, including process discovery, transition planning, knowledge transfer, onboarding, stakeholder alignment, the implementation of standardized AP and GL ways of working, and ensuring successful stabilization after go-live.
- Prepare the AP and GL area for growth by building scalable processes, governance, and team structures that can support increasing transaction volumes and additional business complexity.
- Drive efficiency within the AP and GL area through standardization, simplification, automation, and continuous improvement, leveraging systems and data to improve transparency, service quality, and productivity.
- Be the business owner of AP and GL tools, helping define system requirements, drive enhancements, support implementation of new solutions, and ensure tools are used effectively to enable control, efficiency, and scalability.
- Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in line with internal policies, accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal control frameworks.
- Monitor and report on relevant KPIs such as invoice turnaround time, payment performance, aged items, reconciliation status, close deadlines, transition readiness, and process quality.
- Maintain high-quality vendor and finance master data and ensure strong governance around documentation, approvals, and audit readiness.
- Act as a strong business partner to internal stakeholders across countries, with the ability to understand business needs, build trusted relationships, align expectations, challenge constructively when needed, and drive effective AP and GL solutions that support the wider organization.
- Lead, coach, and develop the team, creating clear priorities, accountability, and a culture focused on continuous improvement and high-quality delivery.
Can you see yourself here?
You understand how AP and GL fit together in an end-to-end finance operating model, and you are motivated by the opportunity to build stable, scalable, and increasingly automated processes. You have strong accounting knowledge, a structured mindset, and the ability to balance operational detail with continuous improvement.
You have experience leading finance teams in AP, GL, or shared services environments and know how to create clarity, ownership, and momentum in a busy operational setting.
You are comfortable with month-end close, reconciliations, controls, compliance, and process governance, and you actively look for ways to improve systems, automate workflows, and reduce manual effort.
You communicate clearly and work well across functions, cultures, and countries. You have strong business stakeholder capabilities and know how to build credibility, navigate different interests, and work effectively with both operational teams and senior stakeholders.
You build trust, support your team through change, and maintain a strong focus on quality, reliability, service, and continuous improvement.
