Air freight market overview

Air freight demand increased and maintaining volumes at historically high levels. The market was once more supported by robust tech and e‑commerce flows on Europe–Asia and Intra‑Asia lanes. Global spot rates experienced the expected seasonal rise, though they remained slightly below last year’s levels.

Ocean freight market overview

Ocean capacity continues to expand, supported by strong container volume growth from the Far East to the Indian Subcontinent and Middle East. A clear divergence persists between US‑bound and Europe‑bound trades, with the latter showing stronger underlying demand and rate development. In Q4 2025, all major trade lanes recorded increases in spot rates, highlighting continued market volatility as the year came to a close.
