At NTG Domestics AB, we are proud to lead the way in local decarbonization efforts. In 2023, we introduced Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), a sustainable bio-based fuel, into our operations. Despite the higher cost of HVO compared to standard diesel, we successfully implemented this change through a phased approach. Our key customers supported this initiative by accepting a higher diesel surcharge in exchange for a significant reduction in their transport-related emissions.

Building on this momentum, we engaged our subcontractors in adopting HVO, ensuring they were compensated for the increased costs. This collaborative effort resulted in the use of over 330,000 liters of HVO fuel in 2023, which saved nearly 700 tonnes of CO2e emissions compared to European standard bio-blended diesel. By 2024, we had further increased our use of HVO100 fuel to over 1.2 million liters, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable transport solutions.
