Entry Summary Declaration (ENS) surcharge on imports from EU to the United Kingdom

From 31 January 2025, the ‘Safety and Security Declaration’ (SSD) will be mandatory for all shipments from the EU to the United Kingdom. This is part of the implementation of the final phase of border controls post-Brexit.

Submitting SSD and ENS for all freight from the EU to the UK will become a legal requirement from this date. As your carrier, we will ensure these declarations are submitted to UK Customs before the goods arrive at the UK border.

We are therefore introducing an ENS surcharge of GBP 10.00 / EUR 12.00 per shipment, plus GBP 1.00 / EUR 1.20 for each additional consignee to cover the additional costs and administration associated with this.

To comply with these new regulations, please provide detailed information about your shipments at the time of booking, including:

  • A detailed description of the goods, including the first four digits of the HS Code.
  • Consignor and consignee details.
  • The type, quantity, and packaging of the goods.
  • Additional information may be requested depending on the nature of the goods.

If this information is not included in your booking, it may result in customs clearance issues, leading to additional costs that will be passed on to you as the shipper.

We understand that these requirements may require additional attention. Please contact your local NTG representative if any questions arise, and we will assist you through the process.
